There is a shortage of family doctors in our community. When someone misses an appointment with minimal or no notice, that valuable time is lost – and it could have been used to help another patient who needs care.
What is considered a missed appointment:
Not showing up for your appointment.
Cancelling a morning appointment on the same day.
Cancelling an afternoon appointment less than 5 hours in advance.
What happens if you miss an appointment:
1st time: You’ll receive a reminder about this policy
2nd time: A $50 fee will be charged (not covered by provincial health insurance)
3rd time: Another $100 fee will apply. You may be removed from your Physicians practice, and if warranted you may be banned from service at Lakeside Medical Clinic.
We understand that emergencies happen.
If something urgent or unexpected prevents you from attending, please call the clinic as soon as you can. Exceptions may be made depending on the situation.
