Description: We are seeking candidates for the position of family physician. Candidates will be able to develop a practice that includes their area of professional interest. With an Urgent Care / Extended Hours clinic on site, family physicians are able to “opt in” and provide services to walk-in patients as well.
Qualifications: Candidates will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Successful applicants will be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan. They must be eligible for or have CMPA insurance coverage.
Additional Information: Lakeside Medical Clinic has been providing primary care to residents of Saskatoon and surrounding area since 1981. We see family medicine clients for booked appointments, as well as non booked urgent care visits for clients who cannot see their family physician in a timely fashion, or clients who do not have a family physician. Our Urgent Care services are open 7 days a week, 362 days a year, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Weekends and Holidays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Lakeside moved into a new purpose-built medical facility in 2020, located on Muskeg Lake Cree Nation urban reserve in the Sutherland area of Saskatoon. Our combination Family Medicine and Urgent Care facility is complemented with a pharmacy, medical imaging, physiotherapy, dentistry, optometry, ENT and physiatrists on site. There is ample free parking for physicians, staff and patients. We are located minutes away from lab services, and are a few minutes from Royal University Hospital and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. Our Family Medicine facility has 32 physician offices, 68 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, a spacious staff room and conference rooms which are multimedia equipped. Our Urgent Care facility on the main floor features 10 exam rooms, two treatment rooms, a dictation area with 5 workstations and a staff lounge and is staffed with teams of 3-4 physicians working together in a fun, collegial, and supportive environment. Urgent Care offers ample opportunity to grow a new practice and maintain a great variety of clients, as well as opportunity to use acute care clinical skills. Our new location has electrified free parking and a separate private physician/staff entrance.
Lakeside Medical Clinic maintains a reputation as a destination for patients, staff, and physicians. Lakeside is equipped with state-of-the-art furnishings, up to date medical equipment, and well-maintained IT services, including Accuro EMR with home access for all physicians. Our experienced Executive Director leads a large and well-trained support staff which allows our physicians to work efficiently and on-time, to maximize the quality and quantity of patient care, as well as physician earning potential. We engage in group CME events and social events to maintain our reputation as a great employer and we welcome newcomers to the Lakeside “Family”.
Our large physician group also provides coverage for our clients while we are away for vacation, CME, or illness via our 7 days a week Urgent Care facility. This allows our physicians greater freedom to plan their time away from the clinic much more freely, without the need to hire locums during vacations. Our clinic is equipped for physicians to provide additional services including Insurance Medicals, Aviation and RCMP medicals, Sports Medicine, “No-Scalpel” Vasectomies, Infant Circumcisions, IUD insertions and more.
